Editorial standards

How Proximate selects, reviews, sources and updates technical articles.

Editorial policy

The publication process is designed to reduce duplicated search intent, unsupported claims and outdated platform guidance.

Selection before publication

Only pages with a distinct reader problem are published. Similar titles are reviewed together and either separated by intent, combined or left outside the sitemap.

Technical and legal claims

Platform-dependent claims are checked against current first-party documentation. UK privacy material links to ICO or legislation sources and is clearly labelled as planning information rather than legal advice.

Accuracy and examples

Indoor range, proximity and battery figures are treated as illustrative unless tied to a measured environment and documented settings. Readers are asked to test representative devices in the real venue.

AI and software assistance

The current library contains 349 prepared guides selected from 405 source drafts. Sixty were published for the initial launch and the remainder were assigned a controlled publication schedule. Software assisted drafting, comparison and validation, while publication decisions, consolidations, factual corrections, source selection and the final de-templating pass are documented separately.

Links and discoverability

Every launch article is reachable through a topic page and standard HTML links. Related guides use descriptive anchor text, and the sitemap lists only approved public URLs.

Review cycle

High-change topics include browser support, mobile operating systems, Google services, UK data protection and accessibility guidance. These pages should be rechecked before material updates or at least annually.
