Why the byline is collective
The library was consolidated, checked and structured as one editorial project. A collective byline is more honest than assigning articles to invented individuals or implying qualifications that have not been supplied.
What the desk is responsible for
- separating overlapping search intents and consolidating duplicate drafts;
- editing in British English and removing unsupported accuracy promises;
- checking changeable claims against primary documentation where practical;
- linking related guides and recording material limitations;
- reviewing corrections and updating affected pages.
What the byline does not mean
It is not a claim that the project provides legal, safety, accessibility or engineering certification. Readers should use qualified professional advice where a decision carries regulatory, contractual or safety consequences.
Named contributors
Named authors or technical reviewers can be added after real contributors have agreed to a public biography. Existing pages will not be retroactively assigned to people who did not review them.
